The Use Of Podcasting For Web PR

A podcast is a collection of digital media files which is distributed over the Internet, often using syndication feeds, for playback on portable media players and personal computers. The term podcast, like "broadcast", can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated; the latter is also termed podcasting. The host or author of a podcast is often called a podcaster. In our case, we shall examine the use of a specially designed PR Podcast website.

Featuring recorded interviews about press releases submitted by PRWeb users, the PRWeb Podcast service brings news releases to life. The PRWeb Podcrew members will visit with users and/or their clients and discuss their news in a brief three- to five-minute telephone interview. The PRWeb team then creates a recording through an in-house production process that makes the PRWeb user the centerpiece of the podcast. Once production is complete, PRWeb works to promote the podcast episodes on PRWeb Podcast and elsewhere on the Internet with the same expertise it deploys to promote press releases.
PRWeb, the Online Visibility Company, launched its podcast service in early 2006 to accompany its press release distribution platform. PRWeb is the first major newswire to offer press release podcast interviews to its users. I know that some of you are interested (Irene) so, check it out!!!

Pr Music Promotion -The Case Of Rhapsody America-

Rhapsody is a digital music service that lets you listen to whatever you want, whenever you want it. With online music stores, you pay for every track or album, but Rhapsody lets you listen to everything we've got for one low monthly price. Launched in December 2001, Rhapsody was the first music service to offer streaming on-demand access to nearly its entire library of digital music. Downloaded files come with restrictions on their use, enforced by Helix, RealNetworks' version of Digital Rights Management (DRM)

Since RealNetworks Music joined forces with MTVN to form Rhapsody America in August, 2007, Rhapsody has developed key partnerships with major players that have helped maintain its position as the ultimate music destination. As a leader in the music industry, Rhapsody has worked hard to demonstrate its stance as an elite subscription-based music service.
In just a few short months, Rhapsody has partnered with TiVo to offer Rhapsody-ready TiVo devices – providing consumers with an unparalleled music experience from the comfort of their living room – developed key marketing relationships with partners such as Best Buy and Wendy’s – offering one of the largest music download giveaways ever – and also partnered with a number of company’s to offer consumers high-end devices such as Haier‘s Wi-Fi enabled ibiza Rhapsody.

With lead publications such as BusinessWeek, Rolling Stone and the Wall Street Journal recognizing Rhapsody’s advancements in the digital music industry, Rhapsody has proven it’s a force to be reckoned with.

Small Technologies Prove To Be Big For Toshiba

The "magic" of ipods has been revealed to us!!!

We all know that iPods play music that is free of any
Digital Rights Management (DRM) and encoded in “open” licensable formats such as MP3 and AAC. Moreover, iPod users can and do acquire their music from many sources, including CDs they own. Music on CDs can be easily imported into the freely-downloadable iTunes jukebox software which runs on both Macs and Windows PCs, and is automatically encoded into the open AAC or MP3 formats without any DRM. This music can be played on iPods or any other music players that play these open formats.

Size matters in this market, as users demand smaller and smaller devices to store huge amounts of data, from music to high-resolution photos. High performance, high capacity hard drives are at the centre of these technologies and storage has become a key technology in developing feature-rich mobile applications.

However, Toshiba Technologies in alliance with PR agency Ranier concieved an amazing PR campaign that was about to revolutionize the mobile storage device's market... http://www.rainierpr.co.uk/case_studies/case_toshiba.html
